Oxidation on a house is a natural chemical breakdown of exterior materials caused by prolonged exposure to UV rays, oxygen, and moisture. It typically appears as a dull, faded, or chalky white residue on vinyl and aluminum siding, painted garage doors, and gutters.
Removing oxidation restores your home's curb appeal and prevents the degrading of your siding material. Left untreated, oxidation makes your house look dull, attracts dirt, and eventually causes the material to become brittle. Removing it restores the true color and extends the lifespan of your exterior.
See the picture above for an example of oxidation. This example is after the siding was wet so it comes off almost like a watery paint. When dry the oxidation will come off in a chalk form.
