• 🔥 A devastating fire changed the town forever. In 1911, a major fire destroyed 23 buildings in Sherrodsville’s business district, dramatically reshaping the village. 
• 🌊 It’s just minutes from Atwood Lake. While the lake isn’t inside the village, Sherrodsville serves as a gateway to Atwood Lake Park, a popular destination for boating, fishing, camping, swimming, and hiking.
• 🚂 Railroads helped the community grow. The railroad still passes through Sherrodsville today, reflecting the transportation routes that supported local businesses and agriculture for generations. 
• 🌳 Conotton Creek runs through the area. The village sits along Conotton Creek, which adds to its scenic rural setting and provides opportunities for fishing and enjoying nature. 
• 🏫 It’s home to Conotton Valley schools. Sherrodsville is the home of Conotton Valley High School and Sherrodsville Elementary School, serving students from several surrounding communities.
