Although we are based out of Port Washington, Uhrichsville will always be our hometown. We opened the business in Uhrichsville and have met many good people and would love to meet our potential new customers as we continue this journey!

Here are some fun facts about Uhrichsville OH, 

• 🏺 It was once known as the “Clay Capital of the World.” Uhrichsville became famous for its rich clay deposits and thriving brick and pottery industries, which fueled the local economy for decades. 
• 🚂 It’s one half of Ohio’s “Twin Cities.” Uhrichsville and neighboring Dennison sit side by side and are commonly referred to as the Twin Cities because they’ve grown together over the years and share the Claymont City School District. 
• 🌊 The Ohio & Erie Canal helped build the town. Before railroads dominated transportation, the canal made Uhrichsville an important shipping hub for wheat, clay products, and other goods. 
• 🌳 It wasn’t always called Uhrichsville. The town was originally laid out as Waterford, but residents kept calling it “Uhrich’s Mill” after early settler and mill owner Michael Uhrich. The official name was eventually changed to Uhrichsville. 
• 🛣️ U.S. Route 36 ends here. The eastern terminus of U.S. Route 36 is located in Uhrichsville. 
• 🥊 A UFC champion is from Uhrichsville. Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt grew up in Uhrichsville and attended Claymont High School.
